Alyxan specialises in FT-ICR mass spectrometers instruments and applications. It was created in October 2005 by a team from the Physical Chemistry Laboratory of Orsay (LCP), France (CNRS,Université de Paris Sud 11) specialised in gas phase ion physics. It benefits from over 20 years of experience in the field.

The work that led to BTRAP1000 has been awarded the following prices:

* University Award for applied research in 2003 (from the General Comity of the Essonne County)

* National Award for New High Technology Innovative company in 2003

A team of about 10 people works currently for Alyxan. Development work is carried out in collaboration with the Physical Chemistry Laboratory of Orsay.
